Effective Capacity vs Discharge Current

The effective capacity under different high discharge current is an important parameter in designing UPS or even in electric vehicle.

The effective capacity of Lithium ion battery has a minor impact from high discharge current comparing to Lead-acid battery.

In the case of an UPS requiring high discharge rate CA, the effective capacity of Lead-acid battery can drop to less than half of the stated capacity. (CA defines the discharge current = Specified Capacity x 1A )
